VOTER WORK

The youth-led, adult-assisted Nevada Young Activist Project is building a loud, grassroots youth constituency able to participate in the progressive movement throughout Nevada. Founded in 2001 by the Progressive Leadership Alliance of Nevada (PLANevada), NYAP seeks to become the first statewide group to conduct organizing, fund raising, and education training on critical issues in the schools and larger community that affect youth specifically. NYAP has created a sustainable, citywide program working against Nevadaís anti-gay initiative and around HIV/AIDS, teen pregnancy, and alternative schools.

DESCRIPTION

Progressive Leadership Alliance of Nevada (PLAN) is a non-profit organization dedicated to serving the people of Nevada.

PLAN was formed in 1994 to bring people and organizations together who are committed to making a positive difference. We are the key vehicle in Nevada for building consensus and collective strategies among progressives on a range of issues including state roles in welfare, immigration, taxes, environment, campaign finance reform, economic justice and reproductive choice.

PLAN works with diverse constituencies not only in building bridges across class, race and regional differences, but in working together to build power.
